Focus

English Journal Antartika (EJA) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal dedicated to publishing original research articles and scholarly studies in linguistics, literature, language teaching, and interdisciplinary language studies. The journal aims to advance theoretical understanding and practical applications of language studies across diverse linguistic, cultural, educational, and social contexts.

EJA welcomes innovative research that explores language structures, literary works, language learning processes, teaching methodologies, translation, and the relationship between language and society. The journal seeks to contribute to the development of linguistic knowledge, literary criticism, language education, and interdisciplinary approaches to language studies.

Scope

English Journal Antartika welcomes original research articles and scholarly studies in, but not limited to, the following areas:

1. Linguistics

   Phonetics and phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, applied linguistics, corpus linguistics, and discourse analysis.

2. Literature

   Literary criticism, poetry, prose, novels, drama, comparative literature, literary theory, postcolonial literature, ecocriticism, and interdisciplinary literary studies.

3. Language Teaching and Education

   English language teaching (ELT), teaching methodologies, curriculum development, instructional materials, classroom practices, language assessment, teacher professional development, and educational technology in language teaching.

4. Language Learning and Acquisition

   Second and foreign language acquisition, language learning strategies, learner motivation, language proficiency, learner autonomy, and individual differences in language learning.

5. Translation and Interpreting

   Translation studies, interpreting, translation techniques, equivalence, translation quality assessment, and cross-cultural communication.

6. Discourse, Media, and Communication

   Critical discourse analysis, media discourse, digital communication, multimodal discourse, language in social media, and the relationship between language, ideology, and power.

7. Intercultural and Interdisciplinary Language Studies

   Intercultural communication, cultural identity, language and society, multilingualism, language policy, and interdisciplinary research connecting language studies with education, culture, and communication.

   Digital literacy, computer-assisted language learning, artificial intelligence in language education, digital literary studies, and technology-supported language learning and teaching.

Research Approaches

The journal welcomes quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research, as well as systematic literature reviews that make a clear scholarly contribution to the fields covered by the journal. All submissions must demonstrate originality, academic rigor, methodological transparency, and relevance to the journal's focus and scope.
